In honor of the Joker & Joaquin Phoenix winning at the Oscars last night, here’s my take on “Smile”. I loved this movie, and Joaquin more than deserved his win for best actor! Although I had been anticipating this cover for quite some time, and was waiting on the results of the Oscars to post it, as I was recording this last night the words truly hit home and touched my heart, so I would also like to dedicate this video and honor one of my favorite teachers from Berklee, Mr. Jeff Ramsey, who unfortunately passed away this weekend. He radiated love and light, and his soul was felt by everyone who knew him. I’ve cried many times since finding out the terrible news, and as I was singing this song I was just reminded by the words that one can only just keep going, and smile. Knowing him, he’d only want for all of us to keep sanging!!
