State regulators in India have halted production at Maiden Pharmaceuticals after the WHO raised concerns that its cough syrups could be linked to the death of 66 children in the Gambia. Authorities say the company skirted at least 12 quality control rules. Maiden Pharmaceuticals has not commented on the allegations so far.
