Crematorium crisis in Pietermaritzburg

Frustrated residents in Pietermaritzburg in KwaZulu-Natal are calling on the municipality to solve the crisis at the Mountain Rise Crematorium in the city. They say the crematorium, which is run by the Msunduzi Municipality, hasn't worked properly for over 20 years. From break-downs during cremations to being dysfunctional for months, it has forced families in the city and surrounding areas to travel to crematoriums further away.
