The pillars of the bridge suspended over the Danube, from Braila, exceeded the height of 120 meters. The works advancing by a few meters per day. New drone footage captures some spectacular shots, with the two towers that will reach the end at a height of almost 200 meters. Between the two towers, the opening of the bridge will be almost 1,120 meters, almost the same as the most famous Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco.

The bridge from Braila, will have three openings: a main opening (1120 m) and two lateral openings of 489 m on the bank of Brăila and 364 m on the bank of Tulcea. On either side are two access viaducts 110 m long each.

In total, the bridge from Braila will measure almost 2 kilometers, and another 23 kilometers of expressway will be built next to it.

After the construction complete of the two towers, which will have 192 meters high, and will be practically the tallest constructions in Romania (beyond chimneys or antennas).

"Approximately 81,000 kilometers of steel wire, enough to encircle the earth twice, will intertwine and form 16 strands that will form two cables with a length of two kilometers each. The total weight of the two cables is over 6,700 tons. The warranty offered by the Japanese cable manufacturer is 120 years ", according to the Road Company.

Each cable is 60 centimeters in diameter and will support the metal deck, with the help of tie rods. On each shore, the cables will be anchored in an anchor block.

Each segment of the metal deck has an average weight of 250 tons. In total, there will be 86 segments of the metal deck weighing a total of over 20,800 tons.

The total length of the suspension bridge over the Danube is 1974 meters, and the central opening is 1,120 meters. In comparison, the famous Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco has a length of 1,970 meters and a central opening of 1,280 meters.

"At the time of completion, it will be the third bridge in Europe in terms of central opening and length," notes the Road Company.
