How to tell when my Platy will give birth?

They will get a square shape to them and often pant and zoom around in panic I’ve noticed a few days before they hide and find comfortable spots to give birth

In the video I have put my teacup platy in a breeding trap it is shaped in a way that the fry will sink down through a gap as the mother usually will eat their own fry not just the other fish in the tank! I would recommend buying one!

Platy fish are like Guppies in the sense that they are livebearers they give birth to live fry (babies) it is magical to see it with your own eyes
