From Space to Earth: ESA's Harmony Mission

ABB is developing thermal infrared payloads for the European Space Agency’s Harmony mission, set to launch in 2029. The mission will study Earth’s oceans, glaciers, and solid Earth, using multispectral instruments to measure sea surface temperature, cloud motion, and land shifts. Combining thermal infrared and radar data, Harmony will provide critical insights into climate science, extreme weather, and the impact of ice loss on sea-level rise. The satellites will orbit alongside the Copernicus Sentinel-1 satellite, enhancing Earth observation capabilities.
