I make a mag block for holding parts while belt grinding them. These 90lb/40kgs pull magnets where intended for woodworking. Tablesaw stop or Bandsaw fence etc. Normally you would just punch a 30mm hole in a wood block and screw them in. I didn't want to remove that much material so I took a different approach. Because of that the slot are a little oversize so the magnets will fit. Not a super tight fit but they are located and won't shift during use. No measuring to make the slots, just by eye. I bought these magnets sometime ago on eBay for very low cost. I don't think these are available today but similar high pull magnets are, at higher cost! Much safer way of controlling the material during grinding and can grind longer without stopping due to heat build up. So far no issues with using it but it goes without saying that caution must be used with this tool. I'm not pushing it hard, just light to medium passes only! Thanks for watching!
