Yeti makes a refreezable plastic block of ice that they claim freezes 2° colder than regular ice. They recommend that you put one of these yeti ice blocks in your Yeti cooler with ice to keep the ice cold or longer. In this video, I do a test of the temperature of the yeti ice block, and I find that it actually is 2° colder than ice. They are telling the truth about the freezing point being lower than water. The blue liquid inside of this yeti ice block is non-toxic, and it freezes colder than regular water. The Yeti ice block is very thick and sturdy, and it doesn’t bulge when it freezes. There is a hole in the middle of it, which makes it freeze faster, and helps it transmit more cold when it is in the Yeti insulated cooler with ice.
Here’s where you can buy some yeti ice in various different sizes and shapes.
