Polish Song about the Silesian Uprisings.
Author of the text: Maksymilian Piełka (1877-1945) from Rybnik, postal worker,
amateur musician. Words printed in the magazine "Insurgent" 1932, No. 3 with the note:
"Sent by M. Piełka - melody: Kibitka". The origin of the melody is unknown,
it probably belongs to the songs of the November Uprising (1830/1831) or
January (1863). The above entry lacks the third stanza of the original text,
in the last one, the first line "The Elbe will be our border one day" was transformed into
"The Oder and Neisse will be our border", probably under the influence of current reading
press release.
