On the Pulse is a series of online presentations from physician leaders in research and care at the Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation® and the Allina Health Minneapolis Heart Institute® addressing the latest cardiovascular advancements and current challenges.

According to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) more than 2 in 5 adults (42.4%) have obesity. Prescription weight loss medications, such as GLP-1 agonists, have shown promising results in treating obesity and cardiovascular disease. In a recent study conducted by the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC), it was found that 89% of surveyed physicians have observed a recent uptick in patients requesting weight-loss medications. Despite significant attention in the media and online, it's important to note that myths still exist regarding this type of medication and obesity.
