Baglamist Jawdat Shaabo and udist Ammar Melhem met in Zwolle in 2017, after they had both fled Syria. At first Jawdat asked Ammar for music lessons, but at the first jam session it was already clear that they formed an equal duo.
The two musicians both first ended up in Turkey before continuing their journey to the Netherlands. This has influenced their musical life and has resulted in a completely unique style. Everything is reflected in their music; Arabic and Turkish music, jazz, pop, blues and flamenco.
Jawdat and Ammar want to breathe new life into the music they brought from their own background in another continent. In addition, they want to further develop their own instruments by playing western music with them.
