TRANSCRIPT: Hi, I'm professor Nick at World Book. Today, I'm going to talk about Tyrannosaurus—one of the scariest dinosaurs ever to roam the Earth. Tyrannosaurus, or T-Rex as it's sometimes called, was the largest meat-eating dinosaur. It lived many, many years ago in what is now western North America. If you lived in Utah or Arizona, T-Rex might have lived in your backyard. Tyrannosaurus was about as tall as a giraffe. This dinosaur had a huge skull and a strong jaw with sharp teeth. A T-Rex tooth was longer than an adult's hand. It also had large, sharp claws on its feet. Tyrannosaurus could hold an animal in its jaws and tear at its victim with these claws. It had small, but strong hands. Each hand had two fingers with small claws on the tips. Tyrannosaurus hunted plant-eating dinosaurs. Scientists think Tyrannosaurus had an excellent sense of smell that helped it sniff out food. It would sneak up on other dinosaurs and then pounce. Few dinosaurs could survive an attack by T-Rex.
