Proto G Engineering
I’ve been doing contract engineering since 2008 and I love to make rapid prototypes; hence the name Proto. My last name begins with a G and so it was; Proto G. I made that drafting intro many years ago and it took me quite a while to make. I 3d modeled the PROTO G block letters and then dimensioned the letters on a 2d drawing in Autodesk Inventor. I overlayed that onto a background I made in Adobe photoshop and then the animation was done with Adobe after effects. The background sounds were from my 3d printer at the time.
I’ve been building my Proto G Development Lab since 2008 and gradually adding more test equipment, 3d printers, a small CNC machine I designed and built in college and a vast collection of various electronic and mechanical components and tools.
I have designed and built quite a few prototypes for my customers over the years ranging from small robotics to large scale, high voltage, machinery. I’ve done engineering work for individuals, small businesses, startups, and companies such as Disney and Volvo. Unfortunately, I can’t share any of the contracts I do due to NDAs or anything I do at work because of ITAR regulations for rockets. I share what I can in my home dev lab. I’m a full time Senior Engineer for Blue Origin working with my friends on the New Glenn rocket! I’m surrounded by so many brilliant people here! It’s very inspiring for me to see so many people working together to build something so enormous! 🚀
