Positive Technologies experts have successfully wrapped up a series of cybersecurity workshops across the Arabian Gulf countries, covering Bahrain, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia.
During these sessions, our experts shared invaluable insights into the evolution of cyber threats in the region, the #vulnerabilities of banking systems, and the attack vectors hackers use to target banking infrastructure and external components.
The workshops were attended by heads of IS departments, managers, #cybersecurity analysts, and architects from the financial industry. Together, we delved into the latest findings from our research on the criminal cyber services market in the Arabian Gulf, revealing that 13% of dark web posts studied between early 2023 and mid-2024 were related to the financial sector. Notably, 40% of data purchase requests on shadow forums were for financial institutions' databases.
Our mission? To help financial institutions better understand hacker tactics, develop skills to safeguard banking systems, and minimize financial losses caused by cyberattacks.
