ISRAEL WAR LATEST: Houthi rebels fired the Greek-flagged Sounion tanker on August 21st with projectiles and a drone boat. The Iranian-backed rebels showed video of them planting explosives on board the Sounion and igniting them.
Salvagers failed to tow away the burning oil tanks in the Red Sea. The European Union naval mission said it's 1 million barrels of oil is at risk of spilling.
The incident threatens to become one of the worst yet in the Iranian-backed rebels’ campaign that has disrupted the $1 trillion in goods that pass through the Red Sea over the Israel-Hamas war in the Gaza Strip. It also has stopped some aid shipments to conflict-ravaged Sudan and Yemen.
