Girl Scout Activity Zone: Cadette, Senior, Ambassador – Make a Watershed Model
A watershed is an area of land that helps channel precipitation to bodies of water. All watersheds share the same goal—to transfer water over the Earth’s surface, which in turn helps to preserve trees. More trees means less carbon pollution, which in turn helps to reduce the consequences of climate change. In this activity you’ll explore why watersheds are important and create a model to understand how they work.
