The Cambrian Period is the first geological time period of the Paleozoic Era. This period lasted from 541 million to 485.4 million years ago and marked a dramatic burst of evolutionary changes in life on Earth, known as the "Cambrian Explosion."
Cambrian creatures were almost alien in appearance, with backwards-facing heads, protruding limbs with claws and the craziest eyeballs known to man.
