Blue Yeti Microphone Review And Unboxing + Blue Yeti Microphone Test
The blue yeti is an extraordinary microphone and i am really happy i made the purchase. I purchased my microphone on amazon for 168 canadian dollars, which is an affordable price for a professional microphone.
In the Blue yeti box it comes with usb cable, microphone stand and the instructions. The blue yeti has a mute button, which is used to mute your recordings and a volume button to adjust the volume of the sound. At the buttom of the microphone there is a usb port and a 3.5-millimeter headphone jack that allows you to listen while you are recording.
the blue yeti has a few adjustable settings in the back as well. there is a gain button and a pattern button. The gain button is basically used to increase the amount of sound the microphone recieve. for this video review i am using a really low gain setting and i'm recording fairly close to the blue yeti mic. The higher the gain the more sound the microphone is going to pick up.
The blue yeti comes in 4 different pattern modes. the modes are stereo mode, cardiod mode, omnidirectional mode and bidirectional mode. All these modes come with there own purpose.
The stereo mode uses both the left and right channels, and is ideal for capturing a realistic, general sound image.
The cardioid mode is well suited for podcast, voiceovers, vocals and instruments. it is what i am currently using right now for this review. It records from one direction, which is the front of the microphone.
Omnidirectional mode records sound from all over the directions, it is used to record confrence calls, field recordings and evens or orchestra.
Finally we have the bidirectional mode which records both the front and the rear of the blue yeti microphone. This feature is extremely helpful for recording a 2 person interview.
The blue yeti is really easy to setup and requires no software to begin recording
