Step involved in gitlab installation on RHEL 9 LTS:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install -y curl openssh-server ca-certificates tzdata perl
sudo apt-get install -y postfix
Add the GitLab package repository and install the package
curl https://packages.gitlab.com/install/r... | sudo bash
Install GitLab on RHEL 9
apt-get install gitlab-ee
Check the gitlab installed version
gitlab-ee --version
Adjust the firewall settings
sudo ufw allow http
sudo ufw allow https
sudo ufw allow openSSH
Configure the external url
sudo nano/vi /etc/gitlab/gitlab.rb
Run the following command to effect the changes:
sudo gitlab-ctl reconfigure
Now open firefox and give http://IP or domain name set in /etc/gitlab/gitlab.rb for parameter EXTERNAL_URL
cd /etc/gitlab/
get password using below command
sudo nano initial_root_password
