Postage Stamp Stories - The K2 Stamp That Wasn't
In 1954, the first ascent to the summit of "The Savage Mountain" was accomplished. But it was not without controversy, and amidst the hubbub, Italy's postal service decided not to issue a postage stamp to note the event which had already been designed, and plates prepared.
