Afghanistan Independence Day
The 104th anniversary of Afghanistan's independence was celebrated

Sirajuddin Haqqani, the Acting Minister of Interior of the Taliban, said at the ceremony celebrating the 104th anniversary of the country's independence from Britain that the world is oppressing the people of Afghanistan.

He made these statements during the celebration of the country's Independence Day today (Saturday, August 19).

Haqqani added: "The world should interact with [the Taliban] and end the ongoing oppression of Afghans."

Meanwhile, Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesman of the Taliban, said in a statement on this occasion that they believe in healthy relations with the countries of the region and the world in accordance with Islamic Sharia.

He added that countries should not follow the policy of oppression and harm towards Afghanistan.

On the other hand, the head of Afghanistan's representation in the United Nations says that celebrating this day in a situation where Afghanistan is struggling with various crises and needs foreign aid, is worthy of reflection and questionable.

On the other hand, during the celebration ceremony of this day, Maulvi Abdul Kabir, Political Deputy of the Taliban Ministry, said that interaction with them is the only way to ensure security and stability in the region.

Today, August 19, is the 104th anniversary of the return of the country's independence from Britain. Before this year, it was specially celebrated all over the country, and now it has been two years that this day has been celebrated under the Taliban flag.
