Notes about using Debian 9 in 2024...
If necessary use Debian 9 and after installation updating packages it's more likely geting error like:
apt-get update && apt-get upgrade
E: The repository 'http://ftp.ru.debian.org/debian stretch Release' does not have a Release file.
N: Updating from such a repository can't be done securely, and is therefore disabled by default.
N: See apt-secure(8) manpage for repository creation and user configuration details.
or
W: Репозиторий «http://ftp.ru.debian.org/debian stretch Release» не содержит файла Release.
N: Данные из этого репозитория нельзя аутентифицировать, и поэтому потенциально из небезопасно использовать.
N: Смотрите справочную страницу apt-secure(8) о создании репозитория и настройке пользователя.
E: Не удалось получить http://ftp.ru.debian.org/debian/dists/stre... 404 Not Found
E: Некоторые индексные файлы не скачались. Они были проигнорированы или вместо них были использованы старые версии.
it means that repository not available at the moment because official support of debian 9 is stoped and repository moved to archive trees and necessary update /etc/apt/source.list file with repository servers addresses like:
'http://archive.debian.org'
for example source.list file may contain rows like:
deb http://archive.debian.org/debian stretch main contrib non-free
deb-src http://archive.debian.org/debian stretch main contrib non-free
deb http://archive.debian.org/debian-security/ stretch/updates main contrib non-free
deb-src http://archive.debian.org/debian-security/ stretch/updates main contrib non-free
Often needs when booting debian9 from Live CD.
