Welcome Sabrina Williams to the Victoria Foundation

The Victoria Foundation would like to introduce you to our new staff member, Indigenous Granting Advisory Coordinator, Sabrina Williams.

Sabrina was born in Seattle, Washington and was raised in Quw’utsun (Cowichan) territories on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. She is from from Somena Village in Cowichan territories on her Father’s side and Nuu chah nulth territories on her Mother’s side. She is a proud parent to five grown children (two sets of twins and a single eldest child). She is expecting her first grandchild at the end of 2023.

Sabrina has a long career history working within Indigenous communities in Cowichan (Duncan, BC) and in Lekwungen territories in Victoria BC. She moved to Victoria in 2007 and has spent a great deal of time developing and delivering culturally relevant, land-based youth programs for Indigenous children and youth in foster care in the Greater Victoria area and developing an accredited leadership program for Indigenous youth.

In 2021 she completed a bachelor’s degree in social work, Indigenous Specialization with the University of Victoria. In the same year she began a master’s degree in social work with the University of Toronto in the Indigenous Trauma and Resiliency Program. She completed her studies at the end of June 2023 and will convocate in November 2023. Sabrina is a believer in lifelong learning and enjoys spending time with her children, practicing yoga and going to the gym.
