Gunman killed in shootout with Munich police outside Israel consulate
A man has been shot dead after exchanging fire with police outside the Israeli consulate in Munich.
German police saw a man carrying an “older long-weapon” and opened fire, hitting the suspect and severely injuring him. Police later confirmed he had died.
Gunfire could be heard in a video taken by a journalist for Süddeutsche Zeitung newspaper from his apartment window. A police siren could also be heard in the background as a woman was seen sprinting away.
