A look at some of the most rare and valuable postage stamps issued by the United States in the last 40 years. You may even find one in your own stamp collection.

A note about the bad math on the CIA Invert. 95 stamps were initially purchased. 9 were kept by 9 CIA employees who went in together on purchasing a new (normal) pane, to switch with the inverted one. Each of the nine kept one stamp and sold the remaining 86 to a stamp auction dealer. 1 of those 86 was torn, leaving 85 for the stamp marketplace.
