Directing Voice Actors Effectively
This is for my friends on the "other-side-of-the-glass"; the Voice Over Director. If you struggle to get the read you need, here are five time-saving tips to get it the best read quickly. While an experienced voice actor can pretty much direct themselves, only YOU know what the client wants. Let them know the basics:
1. Who's the audience
2. What's their role
3. What should they feel
4. If stuck, ask the Engineer
5. Last resort: Line read
