You can imagine that before building a house, the architect understands the geological condition and builds a good foundation in a precise location so that the house is built safely and securely.

Guided implant surgery is to use 3D CT scanner to scan the bones and nerves in the mouth, and then use the mouth scanner to understand the internal conditions of the mouth, and finally use computer software to plan the angle and depth of the implant before the surgery, just like a simulation in the computer beforehand.
Next, a medical grade 3D printer is used to 3D print a surgical guide for the implant. Through this surgical guide, the surgeon can accurately find out the axis and depth of the implant, so that the exit of the denture is in the most ideal position.

The second feature is that guided implants have smaller wounds, less bleeding, and faster healing. The traditional flap implant surgery requires a cross on the gum to open up the gum flesh to confirm the condition of the gum, and then the artificial root is placed and the bone heals for three to six months before the crown is finally installed.
Guided implants, on the other hand, are more precise in positioning, so there is no need to open up the gums, and in some patients with good gum condition, they can even be extracted and placed immediately.

One of the reasons why guided implants are needed for anterior dental implants is the safety issue, because the location of the maxillary anterior teeth is close to the sinus cavity, and the location of the mandibular anterior implants has a complex distribution of blood vessels on the inner side of the implant.
However, if we use guided implant, we can use computer to plan the angle and depth of implant before implantation, which greatly reduces the human error to avoid the dangerous nerve position, and the minimally invasive surgery can use the surgical guide plate to find the exact position on the narrow anterior tooth root and crown without the influence of the narrow oral vision.
