We found a diamond laser that can create fake stars in the Laser Lab
We went to the Laser Lab where they make high power diamond lasers for space applications. The Ramen laser is a diamond laser that converts the wavelength of light to a specific colour that is needed to excite sodium. There is a lot of sodium at the edge of the atmosphere and so when you point the laser at that sodium it fluoresces and creates a fake star which is used for adaptive optics.
