A Brief History of Video Generation: Runway Co-founder Anastasis Germanidis | Ray Summit 2024
Anastasis Germanidis, co-founder and CTO of Runway, describes the short history of generative video and the astounding progress over the last 4 years and outlines the coming breakthroughs. AI systems applied to audiovisual content will change art and creativity forever and enable everyone to tell their stories. Runway is leading the charge in this effort.
In July 2024, Runway released Gen-3 Alpha, the world’s most advanced video generation model. Germanidis describes the surprising emergence of new capabilities in Gen-3 Alpha as well as new functionality built into Gen-3 Alpha like video-to-video generation and image-to-video generation.
According to Germanidis, “The best stories have not been told yet, the best movies have not been made.”
