Diving Watamula in Westpunt, Curaçao! July 2023
Watamula is arguably one of the best dive sites off the Island of Curaçao, which is in the southern Caribbean Sea about 65 km (40 mi) north of the Venezuela coast. Off of the northwestern coast and only reached by boat, it is where two ocean currents meet bringing rich nutrients from afar. This constant influx of food is able to sustain a spectacularly large and dense coral reef.
Definitely one of the best dives I have ever done, I spent an hour gliding among all the coral enjoying the abundant wildlife and trying to capture as much of the experience as possible at a depth of up to 60 feet or so in waters that were around 82 °F at the bottom.
