The Sun game serves as a springboard for the guide to introduce Child/ren to the Food Chain Activity Set. A food chain is a sequential method of explaining the relationship between living organisms. Every ecosystem sustains its own food chain; depending upon where it is situated; and which living animals or plants inhabit the area.
Producer → Primary Consumer → Secondary Consumer → Tertiary Consumer → Quaternary Consumer
An ecosystem has 3 components. These are producers, consumers, and decomposers. However, the food chain could not function without an initial source of energy from the Sun.
Objectives of the Food Chain Activity Bundle:
The direct objective of this material is to introduce the Child to the concept of a food chain.
The indirect objective is after understanding the food chain, the Child will realise how one organism is dependent upon another species for survival.
The food chain is a linear sequence of organisms where nutrients, and energy is transferred from one organism to the other.
