In today’s video, I show you how to make a quick and easy DIY CNY wreath using red Christmas baubles and a heart shaped wreath from Dollar Tree. If you have never made a wreath before, then watch until the end to see how you too can create the easiest wreath.
Few years ago, my mom passed down these beautiful red Christmas baubles and I wanted to repurpose it into a Chinese New Year wreath. Since this year’s Chinese New Year and Valentine’s Day occurs around the same week, it is appropriate to share the love with this wreath. So, let’s combine red colour for tons of good luck, heart shape to fill our hearts with love and hope. To be honest, I am not even sure what I am doing here. But, I do know that 1) I want to repurpose these bright and beautiful red baubles, and 2) I want to do a QUICK AND EASY DIY to start prepping and decorating my home for Chinese New Year.
This DIY took less than 30 minutes to complete and it actually was simple and straight forward to do, as you can see here. Most importantly, it surprised me with how cute and adorable it looks. Right now, each time I pass by my DIY CNY wreath, it just fills my heart with so much joy.
Did you know that red colour has a huge significance during Chinese New Year? Red signifies good fortune, luck, vitality, celebration and prosperity. Especially during Chinese New Year, people dress themselves up in red clothings to boost good luck. When you go out during Chinese New Year, you will notice red lanterns are hung out and red letters are pasted on the doors to ward off bad luck. In fact, red is the luckiest colour in Chinese culture.
✨Supplies needed are a heart shaped wreath, red Christmas baubles, glue gun, a gold elastic ribbon and 2 lucky money red packets.
