Switzerland, the richest country in the world, has decided to limit the number of tourists arriving on its territory. The country, which receives 43 billion francs annually from tourism (accounting for 4.5% of its economy), has taken a number of measures aimed at reducing the number of visitors.
One of these measures is the introduction of entrance fees to certain places. For example, the small town of Iseltwald on the shores of Lake Brienz began to charge a tax of 5 Swiss francs (about 5.14 euros) from tourists who want to take pictures at the marina where the South Korean Netflix series was filmed.
The country's authorities also plan to "send vacationers to the "right places at the right time" to avoid an excessive flow of tourists," representatives of regional tourist bureaus report. This decision causes confusion among some tour operators, who will have to look for new routes to avoid conflicts with local residents who oppose the "coup".
