The pan dei morti are an ancient recipe from the regions of Northern Italy: traditionally prepared for the Feast of All Saints and the subsequent commemoration of the Dead, these biscuits are prepared with cocoa, amaretti dried fruit and the inevitable nutmeg and cinnamon, which give the pan their unmistakable spicy flavor of the dead.
