Small plane crashes off runway at Clearwater Airpark
Instead of taking off, a small plane ended up crashing through a fence at an airpark in Clearwater, police and fire rescue said.
It happened around 8:20 a.m. Monday at the Clearwater Airpark on N Hercules Avenue. According to authorities, the pilot of the plane was attempting to take off when it veered off the runway and went into a grassy area and fence. The reasons for this are "unknown" as of this writing, according to police.
