In the period 1940-1941, an VL-1experimental floating tractor was built in Leningrad (the first photos on the video). At the end of 1949, the project VL-2 floating tractor was prepared, but new technical requirements led to the creation of a new VL-3 prototype. The VL-3 (video main story) prototype was tested in Karelia in the 1950s. Due to the transfer of the production of the KT-12 skidder (the basis for the VL-3) from Leningrad to Minsk, the production of the VL-3 did not start.
