Here’s how to make an Irish Coffee, which is just Irish whiskey, coffee and cream (sugar optional). This classic drink began popping up in print right after World War II. It was a staple of the Shannon airport in Ireland. Because Ireland was a major air traffic hub at that time, the drink started get noticed in America. But it wasn’t until the 1950’s that it became a household name, thanks in large part to the Buena Vista Cafe in San Francisco.

Most recipes call for it to be made with sugar, including the team at the Buena Vista. However, it mostly depends on how you take your coffee. I like black coffee, so the cream combined with the whiskey is more than enough sweetness for me. But if you tend to like sugar in your coffee, you’ll probably want it in this drink.

Recipe:
2 oz (60ml) Irish Whiskey
4 oz (120 ml) Hot Coffee
float Heavy Cream
Sugar Cube (optional)

Heat glass or mug. Lightly whip the heavy cream. Optionally, add a sugar cube to the glass. Pour coffee. Add whiskey. Float cream on top by pouring over a spoon. Sip the hot coffee through the cold cream.

This short was another experiment to test out this new YouTube feature. I think I cracked the code this time. Leave me a comment. Let me know what you think of it.

Also, today is the 7th anniversary of the channel. So I wanted to put a little something up. Hope you dig it. Cheers!
