Mini-documentary: From the trading floor up to the network – 250 years Vienna Stock Exchange
In this mini-documentary, Peter Eigner, economic historian of the University of Vienna, talks about the background and significance of the founding of the Vienna Stock Exchange 250 years ago and takes us to historical stock exchange locations in Vienna. As one of the first traders on the Vienna Stock Exchange, Heike Arbter, member of the board of Raiffeisen Centrobank AG, recounts the introduction of computer trading and the enormous technical development to a fully electronic trading system. Christoph Boschan, CEO of the Vienna Stock Exchange, emphasises the high internationality of the Vienna Stock Exchange, the importance of the national stock exchange for Austrian companies and talks about further business areas such as IT services and data distribution.
