The main part of beekeepers tries to influence the development of colonies so that colonies develop intensively. But one must understand that the best guarantee of a good development of families in the spring is the wintering of strong families and their safe wintering. If the families are weak for some reason, it is better to unite them immediately after the spring revision. Spring development can be divided into two stages. 1. Gradual replacement of dying autumn bees by young bees. 2. The rapid strengthening of the colony due to intensive reproduction and the release of young bees. Such reproduction is typical for strong families.
In the spring, families should be with feed. If there are not enough of them, then feed them. Also insulate the nests.
