National Anthem of Senegal - "Le Lion rouge" 🎵

"Pincez tous vos koras, frappez les balafons" (English: "Everyone strum your koras, strike the balafons"), usually known as "Le Lion rouge" (English: "The Red Lion"), is the national anthem of Senegal. It was adopted in 1960.
The lyrics were written by Léopold Sédar Senghor, who became Senegal's first president. The music is composed by the French composer Herbert Pepper, who also composed the national anthem of the Central African Republic, "La Renaissance". The kora (a type of harp) and balafon (wooden xylophone) are Senegalese musical instruments.

Le Lion rouge, également désigné par Pincez tous vos koras, frappez les balafons, est l'hymne national du Sénégal.
Écrit par Léopold Sédar Senghor, la musique fut composée par l'ethnomusicologue français Herbert Pepper (1912-2001), également compositeur de La Renaissance, l'hymne national centrafricain. Le lion rouge est parfois joué avec des instruments tels que la kora et le balafon.
