You may be going through an audit, and you may get asked from your auditor, what hardening framework does your organization follow? The one that I see the most, is from CIS, the Center for Internet Security, and this is probably the one I would recommend, as it's my go-to, is their hardening benchmarks. They have benchmarks for just about any kind of device that is out there. Windows, Apple, Linux, Cisco, Firewalls, Routers etc. It is probably the most popular one that I see. There are a lot of tools out there to help you get that off the ground. Following hardening benchmarks are going to help your organization become and stay secure.
