Lamar Jackson and Patrick Mahomes are set to own NFL opening night, but their rivalry dates back to college.
In 2016, Lamar won the Heisman Trophy over Mahomes, despite Mahomes leading in almost every statistical category.
Mahomes put up video game-like numbers with over 5,000 passing yards, 41 touchdowns, and an 800-yard game, yet Texas Tech's 5-7 record hurt his Heisman chances.
Meanwhile, Lamar became the first NCAA player to throw for 3,500 yards and rush for 1,500, leading Louisville to a 9-4 record.
Though Mahomes was picked 10th and Lamar the last pick in the first round of their respective NFL drafts, both have become faces of the league.
