Growatt Not Charging Batteries Problem - SOLVED
If you don't see any voltage from the solar panels displayed on the screen but it measures full voltage at the Solar PV input connections then you probably have a different problem. In this case you can reset the charger and it will probably work after that. I'm still not sure what causes that to happen. Let me know if you guys figure it out. To reset the charger just switch off the inverter with the toggle switch, then disconnect the solar panels from it, then disconnect batter power and wait for at least 1 minute. Then connect a Pre-charge resister between the battery negative and inverter before switching reconnecting battery power to it again. Then connect PV power and switch it back on again. Hopefully this works. Firmware Updates have "bricked" the control boards on these so be careful if you try to update your unit. Not recommended.
I have the 12kW Growatt unit - model number SPF1200TDVM-MPV but this should also apply to a lot of other of grid Grow watt inverter solar charge controllers.
