If you’re recording drums with stereo overheads, make sure they’re in phase!
To check this grab an extra cable and place one end at the Center of your snare drum.
Measure out from your snare to the first overhead mic, then compare the distance to the second overhead.
If needed, adjust the second mic so it’s of equal distance to the first like in this video. The cable should just touch the grill of both microphones
This will ensure that your overheads are in phase with your snare drum. Meaning your snare drum will show up dead centre in the stereo image!
