GTECHNIQ Master Detailing kit

“I’m not a professional. I learned most of what I know from YouTube videos like this. So I thought why not make one myself. If you follow these steps correctly then you should get great results! I will add that I’m not sponsored and make nothing out of this so thanks for watching and hope it helps, good luck!”

*“Before you go ahead and do all these steps, be sure to give yourself at least 3 days free”

Step 1
Wash & decontaminate the vehicle using tar, iron, bug remover and then clay bar. Make sure you wear gloves when handling the products to protect your hands from chemicals. (You may notice I forgot to do that sometimes) It’s important to use at least two buckets (wash/rinse/wheels) with sediment dividers to prevent picking up sediments/small stones and scratching the car. Use different sponges also.

Step 2
Thoroughly dry the vehicle using multiple drying towels. You can use a Karcher window vac for your glass if you have one but wouldn’t recommend it on the bodywork as it can leave rubber marks and small scratches.

Step 3
Give the interior a thorough clean and protect all surfaces. If you have a soft top then protect that also. If you have leather seats in need of a clean then give them a scrub and apply a conditioner afterwards and for cloth seats give them a scrub or use a rug dr machine if you have one and allow to dry before applying protection.
Thoroughly clean, polish and protect glass and wing mirrors. RainX is also a good alternative to the GTECHNIQ products I used in the video. I’ve used RainX before and highly recommend it’s super hydrophobic results. If applied correctly the rain will shoot up your windscreen.
Clean your engine bay, alloys, tyres and trim. Then protect them. In the video I applied C5 wheels armour which repels dirt and makes washing the alloys a breeze the next time. You can apply other wheel waxes and sealants too. If you want to go the next level you could take your wheels off if you know how and comfortable in doing so and simultaneously access under the wheel arches.

Step 4
Paint correction. Protect the work you’ve done so far by covering with some form of clean plastic sheets. Attach the sheets using the correct detailing tape not your everyday masking tape. If you get compound residue on a soft top fabric it’s a nightmare to get off and so your back to square one so that’s why it’s important to cover certain areas. Compound & Polish out swirls and scratches. All paints are different so make sure you research and feel comfortable with machine polishing. You can always hand polish if not. I’m using a meguiars machine polisher which does a great job. Many pros use Rupes which I’d like to try out. For small areas you can polish by hand or use a nano polisher. Also use a bright torch to look at the area you’ve compounded / polished and see if you notice any swirls or imperfections if not then your ready to move on.
Prepare the vehicle for the ceramic (Crystal Serum Light) or wax application by removing all the polish residue. If you don’t remove all contaminants then CSL will not work so use a bright light and go over your work.

Step 5
Apply at least two measures of CSL (indoors only) to small sections at a time using the application pad provided. You only need one coat. Make sure you immediately wipe off all residue using multiple microfibre towels. If you don’t wipe of the residue it will cure and then you’ll have to machine polished it off. So once again use a bright light to check your work.
If you’re not comfortable with CSL then use two layers of EXO which is a top coat or use a wax like Meguiars Ultimate liquid wax or 365 paint protect which are great products to try out.

Step 9
Apply EXO as a topcoat for best results apply it twice 1-2 hours between applications.

Step 10
Do not expose the vehicle to the elements for at least 12 hours to let the products cure completely.

There are many different products and brands on the market. GTECHNIQ is without a doubt one of the top end brands. I also like meguiars products and would be willing to try CarPro out...
