The French Writing Desk

One from my archives. Back in 2004, the Cleveland Museum of Art purchased half of my time from Case Western Reserve University to serve as their Virtual Reality Specialist and do "experiments". Kasumi had a "vision" for a film around this French writing desk and I had to make sure that it all moved, viewed, and edited together in accurate (enough) stereoscopic 3D. The original edit was longer, but the Museum requested a shorter version. This is the final shorter version.

This is literally from back in 2004/2005. I was using twin video cameras and everything is micro precision calibrated. Sadly we were only recording in SD then. We did upgrade to an HD rig the next year but only one short sample clip was made from it - it was a monster rig.

I might go back and uprez this video at some point!

The original credits are as follows:

This film was produced for presentation by The Cleveland Museum of Art at its "Gazing at the Future" pavilion at Ingenuity: A Festival of Art and Technology, Cleveland, Ohio 2005

This film was made possible in part by a grant from the United States Department of Education, under the fun for the Improvement of Education.

The museum also gratefully acknowledges the assistance of Case Western Reserve University and NASA Glenn Research Center in its production.
