Considered a "jazz standard" Misty was written in 1954 by pianist Erroll Garner. This song has been covered by many including Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Billy Eckstine, Andy Williams, Frank Sinatra, The Students, Earl Grant, Della Reese, Richard "Groove" Holmes, Donny Hathaway, Johnny Hartman, Ray Stevens, Lesley Gore, Joni James, Julie London, and The Shadows who performed an instrumental verson of the song. Misty was used in the 1971 film "Play Misty for me" starring Clint Eastwood
