Three Eurasian Coots Tend Nest with chicks and eggs in Hyde Park, London
Not just two but three Eurasian Coots tended a nest on Serpentine Lake in Hyde Park, London. The third helper coot seemed able to bring in more sticks to manage the nest without complaint. But it also tried to feed chicks and one of the other adults didn't like it and constantly drove the third away.
This nest had two visible chicks at the time and another dozen eggs under the female.
This was shot in May 2023 on an iPhone. The nest was remarkably close to the park walkway.
