This tutorial is on how to change the space between letters in After Effects.

In the Character Panel you’ll use “Set the tracking for the selected characters” to adjust all letters in the text layer.

But to just change the spacing between two letters, select the text using the Text Tool and put the cursor where you want to adjust the spacing. Then in the Character Panel use “Set the kerning between two characters”.

Alternatively, with the cursor positioned in the text you can hold the Option key if you’re on a Mac or the Alt key if you’re on a PC and use the left and right arrows to nudge the characters left or right (this is my preferred way!).

Try it out for yourself and let me know if you have any questions!
