On 18 March 1993, Diana, Princess of Wales made a powerful speech on the subject of teenage homelessness. She was speaking at an event organised by the homelessness charity Centre Point at the QEII centre in London. The Princess of Wales spoke about the range of abusive or otherwise traumatic experiences that often drove young people to leave their homes, and the need for society to adopt a parental attitude to young people in such a vulnerable position.

Diana's son, Prince William, Prince of Wales has launched a five-year campaign to end homelessness. Speaking of the common need for a "safe and secure home", Prince William described homelessness as a problem out of place in a "modern and progressive society". The Prince of Wales has visited cities across the UK including Aberdeen and Belfast as dedicates himself in the long term to a cause close to his mother's heart.
